The Orientale Lumen XXVIII Conference will be held on June 17-19, 2024 in Washington, DC on the theme of “Primacy in the 21st Century.”
Speakers will pre-record their reflections on three agreed statements of the Catholic-Orthodox Theological Dialogue:
- Ravenna (2007): “Ecclesiological and Canonical Consequences of the Sacramental Nature of the Church: Ecclesial Communion, Conciliarity and Authority”
- Chieti (2016): “Synodality and Primacy During the First Millennium: Towards a Common Understanding in Service to the Unity of the Church”
- Alexandria (2023): “Synodality and Primacy in the Second Millennium and Today”
Monday evening will be an Introduction, video greetings from Church leaders, and a tribute to Archbishop +Vsevolod, an OL Conference founder. Tuesday evening will be a panel discussion among the speakers of their lectures, and Wednesday evening will be a panel discussion using questions received via email or the chat room from online viewers. A Zoom link will be sent to those who register to view the pre-recorded lectures and access the panel discussions.
